What We Do - Computer Exchange

Help a student succeed by donating your old desktop or laptop computer!

People to People is honored to work with PCReNew, a project of the Rockland PC User Group, to provide students in our recipient families with computers for school work.

As Microsoft Authorized Refurbishers, PCReNew takes used desktop/laptop computers and makes them ready for an at-risk student in Rockland. They wipe the hard drive clean using software designed to Department of Defense standards to protect from identity theft, then repair the machine and bring it up to date.

These computers are then provided to People to People clients with school-age children on a first-come, first-served basis. The waiting list for those families still in need of a computer is WAY TOO LONG!

You receive a charitable tax donation for your generosity. You also receive the satisfaction of knowing your computer is helping a student do research and homework to prepare for the future.

Have an old computer to donate? Contact PCReNew at (845) 638-1917 to set up a time to drop off your old equipment at their facility in New City.
